As you found new ways to innovate teaching and learning in 2020, it was important for us to provide new Classworks features and resources to support you.
The Classworks learning progression organizes our instructional units into a research-based, teachable order. As students work up the progression they build appropriate foundational knowledge giving them greater success on more complex concepts.
One of the biggest values of this enhancement is students can begin working in Classworks on day one unlike other programs which require you to assess first. Once a students does take an assessment that data automatically adapts their progression.
Our philosophy has always been that technologies should work together to make educators' lives easier! In 2020, we added a new assessment partner, Pearson's aimswebPlus to our long list of integration partners.
Additionally, ALL test data coming into Classworks is actionable for every student, automatically. That means whether students are taking an outside assessment or Classworks screener and Progress Monitoring assessments, teachers know they're working on relevant instruction.
It's more important than ever to have data on how students are progressing. And, the reports shouldn't be complicated!
In 2020, we expanded our reporting to feature district-level snapshots of student performance. We also introduced free monthly data reviews to to provide analysis of the data to districts and create plans to reward progress and make adjustments where needed.
In addition to our online training courses, we added several virtual training options. We heard you when you said you’d been on Zoom all day and long virtual training was just too much! We created shorter, more engaging sessions, and provided you with flexibility to schedule them at any time of day. We added daily office hours to ensure teachers had support whenever they were using Classworks. And we created dozens of tutorials, videos, and other resources to help you support students and parents with online learning.
It was important for our education community to feel connected to each other. Thank you for your participation in our weekly live sessions! Based on your feedback, topics included virtual and hybrid learning, support for Special Education students, social and emotional learning, using Google Classroom, Schoology and other learning management systems, and more. Check out our resources to support continuous learning for students!
Our favorite time of year is when we get on the road to deliver Classworks user conferences around the country. Although we missed seeing you in person, the Fall Virtual Summit gave us the opportunity to interact with even more of you! The Classworks curriculum team and some of our school district partners delivered 13 sessions over the course of two weeks. Educators across the country shared helpful strategies on effective LMS management, engagement in the virtual learning environment, and assisting families with technology. Hundreds of educators participated and it was amazing to hear the ways you are all innovating!
"I love Classworks! I think it's easy-to-use and makes my life easier in terms of tailoring instruction for every student. It is a good way to individualize your students' learning and as a teacher to know if you are being effective."
